2009 was the year of Young Adult Fiction. Only picking up reading for enjoyment in the last 3 years, my reading choices in previous years were mostly children's fictional literature (fantasy, dystopian, historical, and realistic) or typical "chick lit" involving fashion conscious women and the men in their lives.From January through May (while I was teaching 5th and 1st grades), I continued to read children's lit and chick lit until I came across a series called...The Mortal Instruments. I never realized YA could be so good!! Ever since, I've been hooked on YA, reading only some children's fictional literature here and there.

I love the way you grouped them. For chick lit (although I didn't read it this year) I love Goodnight Nobody by Jennifer Weiner. If you haven't checked it out - do.
